Meet Dr. Joshua Smith

As the son of a dentist in the United States military, making the decision to follow in his footsteps was easy. Dr. Smith was exposed to the medical field early on and was inspired to pursue both oral surgery and a military career. Dr. Smith joined the United States Air Force and has traveled and lived in many communities worldwide, including Idaho, Guam, Mississippi, San Francisco Bay Area, and the Philippines. Dr. Smith is passionate about oral surgery and committed to treating his patients with the personal focus and respect they deserve. He makes sure his patients have an outstanding experience while upholding the highest standard of care. He will take his time to get to know every patient and will personally create a customized solution to best fit their individual needs.

Education and Residency

Dr. Smith received his undergraduate degree in Microbiology from Brigham Young University in 2003. He went on to attend the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, where he received his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS).

As an active duty member of the United States Air Force, Dr. Smith completed his oral surgery residency at David Grant Medical Center, located at Travis Air Force Base.

Certifications

Dr. Smith is board-certified by the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and a fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons.

 

Outside the Office

Dr. Smith loves to spend time with his wife and three sons when he is not busy treating patients and is out and about in his community. He also enjoys the great outdoors, and you can often find him hiking, camping, fishing, or golfing. He also coaches his son’s football team.
